INFANT CIRCUMCISION

6 weeks and under.
Surgeon
Dr. Jeena is an experienced Paediatric Surgeon, working in Regina General Hospital.
He performs circumcisions twice a month at OMNI. Please call us at (306)789-7777 for the next available date. He is assisted by 1 Neo-natal nurse and another OR nurse during the procedure and recovery.
What do we need?
- Birth record
- Birth and current weight
- One of the parents/legal guardian to accompany the baby
- Signed consent
What to expect after a circumcision
- Colour changes are normal
- Slight bleeding within minutes, hours, or prolonging the entire day
- Change in size due to skin removal
- Swelling, may disappear within a week or two
Post care after circumcision
- Prevent skin from sticking to their diaper
- Check for bleeding regularly
- Give pain relief, if needed
- Apply a barrier ointment, such as vaseline
