WHY DO I NEED MULTIPLE TREATMENTS TO ACHIEVE HAIR REMOVAL?
As with all laser hair removal methods, Diolaze XL requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage, however, at any given time, your hair is in various stages of growth.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
With each treatment, hair is reduced and best results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.
WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
Diolaze can be safely used on most areas of the body. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.
WILL IT REMOVE HAIR PERMANENTLY?
Laser treatment can either permanently reduce the density of the hair or permanently remove unwanted hair.
Permanent reduction in hair density means some hairs will regrow after a single course of therapy and patients will need ongoing laser treatment.
Permanent hair removal means none of the hairs in the treated area will regrow after a single course of therapy and no ongoing laser therapy is needed.
Whether hair is removed permanently or just reduced in density is influenced by:
- the colour and thickness of the hairs being treated
- the colour of the patient’s skin
- the type and quality of the laser used, and
- the competence and training of the person operating the laser.
What are pre treatment precautions?
- do not wax or pluck hair before a scheduled laser treatment
- avoid getting a treatment if you have a tan or sun burn
- stop using Retinol or AHA and BHA products a week prior to your session
- avoid direct sun exposure for sometime
