SkinPen is the first Microneedling device cleared by the FDA for collagen induction, clinically proven to safely and effectively treat :
- Acne scars
- Diminish deep scars
- Fine lines
- Stretch marks
- Loose skin
- Large pores
How does it work?
Microneedling is usually recommended in the series of 4-6 treatments 4 weeks apart. Depth and number of treatments can be customized to address scar revision, fine lines, deep wrinkles, stretch marks and sun damage. Topical numbing cream is used before the procedure, followed by an automated vertically stamping method using a sterilized, disposable tip.
It improves the skin by causing controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process while minimizing cellular damage. The result is the effective remodelling of scar tissue by increasing the cell turnover, collagen production and skin rejuvenation while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.
Microneedling with PRP
Platelet-Rich Plasma skin rejuvenation, or PRP treatment (also known as the "Vampire Facial"), is a skincare solution that works by using your body's natural healing properties to help restore your skin. Originally developed to treat sports-related injuries more quickly, it was soon found to have practical cosmetic applications as well. By activating healing factors in your cells to regenerate soft tissue, it can give your skin a fuller, healthier look.
A vial of blood is drawn by an RN or our Physician on-site, it is then placed in a Pura Plus device to be centrifuged where the red blood cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma. The platelet-rich plasma is activated to release at least eight different growth factors and signalling proteins, which is then applied on the face and, in combination with microneedling it deliver the growth factors to the dermis of the skin through the microchannels created by Skin Pen.
Since the autologous Platelet-rich plasma is processed from the patient's own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.
